We build competitive policy debate teams in Miami's Title I middle and high schools, with coaching, tournaments, and mentors who help students speak up, think critically, and lead.
Two-person teams research one national policy topic all year and compete at six league tournaments, in middle school, novice and varsity divisions. With Debate en Español, students can also compete in Spanish on the same topic and schedule.
About 125 students compete at every tournament, and every round needs a judge. Lawyers, teachers, college students and neighbors are all welcome. No experience needed: we'll train you before your first round.
Join us Saturday, May 1, 2027 for our second annual gala. Our inaugural gala raised more than $72,000 for Miami debaters, with a keynote from Florida Supreme Court Justice John D. Couriel.
